Curriculum and Instruction

  • Curriculum, Instruction, and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support are understood as follows:

    Curriculum references the Illinois Priority Learning Standards (Rigorous content knowledge combined with application of that knowledge through specific skills).

    Instruction references the teaching methods and practices by which the Illinois Priority Learning Standards are delivered to students. 

    Multi-Tiered Systems of Support are interventions of instruction that move on a continuum from large-group to individualized with the goal of improving student learning.
