Welcome to music! My name is Mr. Groth.

I'm so excited to be teaching at Eswood this year! I have a lot of experience with music, both as a teacher and a performer. I also teach K-8 music at Steward Elementary School and work with the DeKalb High School Marching Barbs. I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's degree in Music Education.  As a performer, I have played trumpet with a variety of ensembles in the DeKalb area including Banda NIU, NIU Wind Ensemble, and DeKalb Municipal Band. Some of my favorite genres of music are classic rock, alternative rock, and jazz. I can't wait to make music this year!
